We are a family owned and operated Chicago based business.
In 1912 Frank Carlson began as an employee of E. M. Bornhoft & Co. which
was established in 1894. Frank left E.
M. Bornhoft to start his own business, Frank O. Carlson & Co., Inc., in
1930 with installing chalkboards and hand lettering office doors throughout the
loop. Due to the worldwide economic
depression Frank could not continue to keep the business moving forward so he returned
to his job at E. M. Bornhoft. In 1951,
he was offered to purchase the company from Eugene Bornhoft. We are established in 1894 so Eugene
Bornhoft’s legacy would live on.
Frank O. Carlson & Co., Inc. has been a part of many phases of the printing
and signage world as it has evolved from hand lettering to silk screen, to
vinyl die cut letters and now to a completely digital shop with the state of
the art printing machines. As the requests
of our customers have grown so have our services. As all companies, we offer a wide variety of
substrates to meet the requirements of our customers, such as vinyl, acrylic,
sintra, dibond, foamcore, cardstock and more that are able to be printed directly. Our machines print sizes from as small as necessary
to as large as industry allows, 16’ wide banners by length of roll. We also have finishing capabilities as
needed, by laminating or sewing.
As the opportunity for vehicle wrapping arose we expanded
our printing and installation services for vehicle graphics from decals on the
doors to full wraps of busses and trolleys and corporate identification.
Whatever your dream for advertising is, whether it is a
simple printed vinyl banner to a complex creation we are here to help your
dream come true.
